The growth in the take up of Long Term Evolution (LTE) mobile is accelerating, mainly driven by the increasing demand for high-speed Internet access while on the move. LTE is also seen as a way of providing Internet access where fixed line broadband performs poorly, for example in rural areas.
According to the GSM Association (GSMA) there are one million LTE users already and 300 million are expected by 2015.
PTT has just released an updated version of its course MOF: “LTE (4G) mobile radio networks”. This course introduces the benefits and underlying technologies of LTE radio access networks and the Evolved Packet Core (EPC).
A new companion course which provides in-depth coverage of LTE system operation is now also available. This online course MOG: “LTE mobile systems” includes topics such as the provision of differentiated services, roaming between LTE and 2G/3G networks, and providing voice services over LTE. This new course also introduces the benefits and operation of the next generation of mobile service: LTE Advanced.
