PTT was founded in 1993 with the ambition to improve the efficacy of technical training in the telecommunications sector. From years of experience of providing classroom-based training in that sector, PTT’s founders believed that e-learning could improve learners’ attainment while reducing training costs. Back in 1993, elearning was in its infancy and the use of the Internet was not widespread. Now, over thirty years later, the Internet is ubiquitous and PTT's online learning courses have a track record of training success around the world.
Our courses have trained staff as far afield as the Falklands, Samoa and St. Helena, along with engineers at the European Space Agency and the GÉANT European research network.
From the start, PTT's ethos is quality driven: quality of training content, quality of training delivery, and quality of user experience. To demonstrate and re-enforce that ethos, our online study programmes bundle courses, assessment and tutor support into a single route into the industry.
Online learning frees trainers from delivering knowledge so they can concentrate on skills and one-to-one support. Our blended approach to apprenticeship training has worked for hundreds of apprentices and their employers.
From fibre to the premises and 5G to Ethernet LANs and cloud services, our catalogue is updated regularly - with courses pitched at a wide variety of audiences from call centre staff and apprentices through to experienced engineers.
