What you will learn:

You'll learn the end-to-end process of making a telephone call: signalling, routing, resource allocation, call control, and billing - understanding the role each plays in delivering a reliable voice connection. The course explains the differences between circuit-switched and VoIP telephony architectures, and the factors that determine call quality. You will also learn how calls are routed over telephony systems and the factors that influence routing decisions.

Course prerequisites:

An understanding of the basic principles of data communications. It is recommended that the PTT course "Data communications principles" is studied in preparation for this course.

Delivery platform requirements:
To access the course, a computer/tablet running a browser such as Chrome, Safari, Edge etc. is required. The device should have an active Internet connection and a screen resolution of at least 1024x768.
